Hi! My name is ARUM and I’m an electronic music producer and DJ. Thanks for subscribing to and reading my newsletter! I’ll be sending out quarterly newsletters for three important reasons: to keep people updated on my current and future music on Spotify, Apple Music, and all other streaming services; to recommend low-key and interesting music that people may not have heard yet; and most importantly, to sell stickers that I hope end up littering public bathroom stalls and cop cars. No matter your favorite reason, I hope you dig it!
Speaking of Spotify Wrapped…
My Spotify Wrapped for Artists 2023 dropped a little earlier this month. This is special to me because it’s my first Spotify Wrapped since I began taking music more seriously. My last memorable Spotify Wrapped was from 2020:
Since starting to release music seriously in 2023, I’ve gained over 10,000 streams on Spotify.
Ok ok I know what it looks like, but Spotify Wrapped for Artists only keeps track of yearly streams through early November. As of right now (January 3, 2024), just the tracks I’ve released this year equal over 15,000 streams:
Honestly, I’m blown away by this. I wanna drop a huge thank you to everyone who’s streamed my music and let you know that there’s more on the way soon! In the meantime, click here to follow a Spotify playlist that has my entire discography on it so you can check it out as soon at it’s released.
Speaking of Friends…
My good pals over at Spirit Bear recently released an EP and a music video for their track Friends! It’s sweet and warm and just a little bit sexy. It even features a cameo from your 5th favorite Polish-Salvadoran electronic music producer! Give it a listen here: Spirit Bear - Friends (Official Music Video)
Speaking of Playlist Picks…
Here’s some new music I’ve been listening to lately that you should check out when you’re not streaming Love Has Come Around on repeat overnight (do not tell the IRS you’re doing this). Click here to listen to all these tracks below in a single Spotify playlist that I’ll update with every future Newsletter:
quickly, quickly - Satellite
Easy listening music for moon people
Karriem Riggins - Bahia Dreamin’
Headnod-friendly beat from Karriem Riggins - this song has been casually stuck in my head for 6 years now
cosmic collective - i don’t care:
Waiting room music for your next lap in a go-kart race (you’re losing but you’re with your friends so it’s ok)
FLOWERPATCH! - JPEGMAFIA Was Right About Morrisey:
A super comfy track from up-and-coming producer, FLOWERPATCH!; reminiscent of jungle/drum n’ bass on the Nintendo 64 and PS1
Submerse - Rumble Pak:
An even comfier track from established producer Submerse; reminiscent of jungle/drum n’ bass on the Nintendo 64 and PS1
DOMi & JD BECK - SNiFF:
Hyperactive instrumental keyboard and drum jazz track from a duo that has some of my favorite photoshoots
jungle bobby, lentra - turn it all the way up:
“I mean, if there’s one thing I know about you, it’s that you have the best dance moves”
Memorex Memories - Liminal Space:
Some genres like synthwave can sound monotonous after some time; this song made me remember that some artists out there are still making unique and interesting music in seemingly stagnant genres
spellcasting - party at club bug!:
itchy music for bug people - play this on aux at an insect rave and you will 100% be invited back
Ahh, a nice even 9 songs.
Speaking of Merch…
click here to buy a sticker i heard they look great on bathroom stalls and cop cars
And finally…
Speaking of Future Music…
Here’s my release schedule for the next couple months:
Identity Crisis: 01/19/2024
“The first song to be released in 2024 by any artist in the entire world.”
CTRL: 02/23/2024
“The second song to be released in 2024 by any artist in the entire world”
And that’s it for the first newsletter! I’ll start out my next newsletter by answering reader-submitted questions, so if you want to be featured, reply to this email with a question (no I will not answer any questions about the insect raves). Thanks for reading, see you in Spring 2024!
